Pilgrims Pre-Preparatory is a school specifically designed for little people. Our inspirational and creative teaching is combined with fantastic facilities to encourage all our little people to explore, learn and have fun.
Due to Government restrictions, our open day that was due to take place in March has been cancelled, however Pilgrims have created the next best thing.

Your child’s journey at Pilgrims can start at any point from 3 months.
With a team of dedicated and highly qualified staff, we ensure that your child has every opportunity to develop and flourish during their time with us, whether it is academically, socially, physically or emotionally.
Our superb, purpose-built facilities and resources allow us to embrace innovative ideas in child development and education – a school designed for little people.
Through the delivery of a creative curriculum, we actively seek out opportunities to make the learning meaningful and fun, thereby engaging and inspiring each child to unearth their individual interests and talents.
Age 3 months to 3 years
In Little Pilgrims, the youngest members of our school learn and develop through play, in a happy, safe and vibrant environment.
Separated into four distinct rooms, set aside from the main building, the facilities and resources within Little Pilgrims have been specifically designed to support each stage of your child’s development.
Age 3 to 4 years
Pre School children enjoy full use of all the school facilities, including the swimming pool and hall. Specialist sessions covering phonics, numeracy, PE, music and Forest School are also included in the weekly timetable.
Our new Pre School opened in January 2021. The design creates a modern, open, free-flow area for the children to explore. There are quiet corners for reading and story-time, creative areas for role-play and, of course, an area for getting messy – all the things 3 to 4 year-old children love to do!
4 to 5 years
Our Reception follows on seamlessly from Pre School. We have small classes, each with their own fully qualified teacher and teaching assistant, to ensure that your child is able to work at their own pace.
The timetable in Reception also includes visits to the IT suite, library and hall for gymnastics. Specialist teachers provide weekly sessions in French, swimming, games and music.
5 to 6 years
With foundations securely in place, the children in Year 1 are now ready to become more independent in their learning. While still following a creative curriculum, subjects are more formally timetabled.
6 to 7 years
In Year 2 the children are guided and encouraged to further develop their academic and personal qualities. As role models to the younger children, additional responsibilities and challenges are introduced. By assisting with various roles around the school, the children are able to demonstrate a clear understanding of the school values.
By the end of Year 2 the children are well prepared both academically and socially for the excitement and challenges of their move to their next school.
